Like ‘is a Jaffa Cake a cake or a biscuit?’ the age old debate of whether Celtic and Rangers should be allowed to play against English teams has once again been re-ignited.
Prominent figures from both of the Glasgow clubs have raised the issue with Hoops majority shareholder Dermot Desmond the first to fan the flames.
And since then managers Ronny Deila and Mark Warburton have also gone on record to say they support the idea of their respective teams battling it out with sides south of the border.
Should Celtic and Rangers be allowed to play in the English Premier League or be admitted to a future British league?
The notion was kicked into touch back in 2009 when English clubs voted against Celtic and Rangers joining a second tier of the Premier League with then Chief Executive Richard Scudamore one of its opponents.
However, these latest comments by Desmond, Deila and Warburton have only served to open up a whole new can of proverbial worms.
Ladbrokes make it a 20/1 shot that Celtic and Rangers play in the Premier League in the next five years while you can get odds of 500/1 for either side to win the title in that period.
