Second win of the year can kick-start Livingston season

Livingston enjoyed arguably their best performance of the season last weekend, as they came from behind to thump Queen of the South 4-1.
It was Livi’s second away win of the year and coupled with Alloa’s loss to Morton, ensured Mark Burchill’s men moved off the bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship.
The Lions had gone behind on Saturday afternoon to Dale Hilson’s strike, but this was to be an away day to send Livi fans home happy.
Scott Pitman brought the game level within five minutes of the restart, before Jordan White put the Amber Machine ahead and a Liam Buchanan brace ensured Livi’s biggest win of the campaign.
Livingston’s last five games read two wins and three defeats, but each of those losses came by a single-goal margin, and assistant manager David Hopkin believes Saturday’s result was fully deserved.
The former Leeds and Crystal Palace midfielder told the Edinburgh Evening News: “We’ve been creating real good opportunities lately but (we) have just been unlucky.
“I think anybody who saw us against St Mirren last weekend will have seen that so I think winning at Queens is our just reward for the last four or five matches,” Hopkin added.
Livi are yet to claim a point at home at this season, but no doubt buoyed by that the win over Queens, have added reason to be confident when they welcome Raith this weekend.
Rovers saw their five-game winning streak ended by Hibernian on Saturday, and of their 21 points gathered in the Ladbrokes Championship this season, only six have come away from home.
Raith have played just one away game in the league in the last six weeks, and that yielded a 1-0 win at Alloa.
Livingston are 19/10 to claim a second successive win, and just as importantly, give the faithful at Almondvale Stadium some points to celebrate.
