Sanchez v Lewandowski: Both will score when Arsenal host Bayern

Published:

Bayern Munich opened their Bundesliga season with a 5-0 thumping of Hamburg and 10 of their 11 matches since have seen a minimum of three goals scored.

Meanwhile, their last seven Champions League outings have additionally gone above the 2.5 goalline, showing how reliable goals are in matches featuring Pep Guardiola’s men, with the majority also going in their favour.

Arsenal are another team making a habit of being involved in high-scoring matches, with six of their last seven witnessing more than two goals. The one exception came in the 2-0 defeat at reigning Premier League champions Chelsea when having two men sent off.

Taking all of this on board, the 4/6 on over 2.5 goals between Arsenal and Bayern Munich at the Emirates is tough to oppose.

Another betting market of interest for the Group F showdown is which players may be responsible for these goals and the follow graphic may help offer some insight into where the smart money should be going.

Since September 22nd, both Alexis Sanchez and Robert Lewandowski are comfortably averaging over a goal per game.

Sanchez has been on target in six consecutive matches, but is likely to prove his toughest challenge against a Bayern side that will look to dictate possession and have conceded just twice across their last seven fixtures in all competitions.

The Chilean forward looks a generous 5/2 to net anytime in the 90 minutes and a tempting 16/1 to score two or more against Bayern.

Meanwhile, the price has been boosted from 5/1 to 7/1 on Sanchez being on target in a Gunners victory.

As for Lewandowski, he may prove the best bet of all at 21/20 to score at any time in the game, while it is 25/1 he bags a second consecutive Champions League hat-trick after putting three past Dinamo Zagreb last time.

It is 6/1 that both Sanchez and Lewandowski score in London.
