Ross County maintain top six credentials after Dons win

Jim McIntyre and Billy Dodds are continuing to work wonders at Ross County, and their latest performance and win in the Ladbrokes Premiership will only add more credence to suggestions the Staggies can become top half regulars.
County outfoxed Aberdeen 2-0 at Dingwall on Friday to maintain their place in the top four. McIntyre leads his team out at Hearts next, where a win would lift the Staggies to a lofty third.
The Ross-shire club’s highest ever league finish was fifth in 2012-13, and on current form they look well placed to go about beating that result.
The Staggies were 8/1 for a top-six finish before a ball was kicked this term, but after the 2-0 win over the Dons they’re now 1/2 to secure a top half berth at the end of the season.
It’s the continuation of a run of form which saw County win 10 of their final 14 games last season as they lifted themselves out of relegation contention.
Add on their results this term and over the last 25 league games the Staggies have won 15 – a win ratio of 60 per cent – while claiming five draws and suffering only five defeats in that spell.
They’ve been particularly strong on their travels, which bodes well for the trip to Tynecastle this coming Saturday, having lost just one of their last 11 Ladbrokes Premiership contests away from Dingwall.
Optimistic County fans might even want to have a think over the 33/1 on the club in the betting without Celtic market. With Aberdeen and Hearts both floundering of late, it could be worth consideration.
Liam Boyce didn’t get on the scoresheet on Friday, but with seven goals already this term he’s well in the goalscoring fight and can still be backed at a handy 10/1 to claim the top scorer accolade.
