Prices ease up, but Football still isn’t value for money

The BBC’s annual Price of Football investigation arguably raised more questions than it gave answers, but the overriding verdict remains the same as it has in recent times – football is still too expensive.
That’s according to Ladbrokes News voters who overwhelmingly hit ‘NO’ when asked if football fans are getting value for money on British shores.
The overall picture still isn’t very pretty however, and the average price of a Premier League ticket is now upwards of £30, aside for Leicester’s much more reasonable offering of a £22 ticket.
Stoke lead the way in terms of top tier season-tickets with a £300 offering, but that’s blown out of the water by Eastleigh’s £120 season-ticket in the National League.
Before you rejoice however, bear in mind a season ticket at Bayern Munich can be purchased for £104.48.
So we at Ladbrokes News put it to you, and a huge 77 per cent of you said football fans still don’t get value for money on the British Isles.
A small number – 23 per cent – said you do get value for money, but we suspect that may be a bunch of Eastleigh fans…
The result is clear though, much more needs to be done to bring football back to affordable levels for its supporters.
