Thomas Lemar odds, arsenal odds, transfer deadline day

Things had been going oh so well for Arsenal, with six wins from seven games, the team sitting nicely in second in the table, and a famous victory over Bayern Munich, but as ever, things rarely stay rosy at the Emirates for long.

Last night’s League Cup exit at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday was a blow in itself to Arsene Wenger’s hopes of winning the competition for the first time, but that wasn’t all.

Both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain went off injured in the game, taking the number of first-team players on Wenger’s injury list to eight.

Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, David Ospina and Danny Welbeck are already absent for the Gunners.

The games come thick and fast for the London club, who head to Swansea this weekend before a Champions League clash in Munich next week.

And with Wenger’s list of crocked players growing longer, we want to know if you think the Gunners can still mount a genuine, sustained title challenge this season.

Cast your vote below and let us know if you think Arsenal have the strength in depth to maintain a Premier League challenge this season.
