No rest for East Stirling could pay dividends this weekend

It’s been a tough season for East Stirling, and though the club currently occupy the bottom spot in Ladbrokes League 2, they are working hard to move up the table.
The Ochilview Park club haven’t played a game for a fortnight due to the concluding round of Euro 2016 Qualifying matches in addition an early Challenge Cup exit, but that hasn’t meant a rest for the Shire.
Coach Craig Tully has continued training preparations at the Little Kerse ground.
“We need to keep working hard and even though we don’t have a match that’s no need to alter our routine,” Craig told eaststirlingshirefc.co.uk.
“They guys accept that and we have put in some really good sessions this week,” he added.
The Shire take on Elgin this weekend, and with both East Stirling’s wins this season coming in front of their own crowd, they’ll be confident of grabbing a result on Saturday.
Throw in Elgin’s dodgy road form this season – they’re winless in their last four away contests – and there’s every reason to believe that Tully’s decision to keep his side busy could be one which pays off this weekend.
The visitors have kept just a single clean sheet in their last seven matches away from Borough Briggs and have lost each of their last five trips to the Shire.
Last season’s results saw City go down 1-0 and 2-1 at Ochilview Park, and haven’t returned home with three points in this meeting since August 2012.
East Stirling are 3/1 to claim three points this weekend, and though that may seem large for a home side, the international break always has a way of throwing the form book out of the window.
