Livingston boss rues red card but better times are on the way

After top-five finishes in the last two seasons, things have been a bit more difficult for Livingston in the Ladbrokes Championship this term.
Having picked up a solitary point from their opening five games, Mark Burchill’s men claimed a much-needed first win of the season against Alloa at the end of September.
But after dominating for large spells over the weekend away at Dumbarton, a second half red card for Myles Hippolyte put Livingston on the back foot and their hosts promptly scored a winner eight minutes from time.
Burchill was quick to castigate Hippolyte for his off the ball incident, but the Lions boss has reason to be optimistic.
The Almondvale club can count themselves unlucky not to have picked up a second successive win on Saturday, but the next four fixtures are there for the taking.
First up after the international break is a home tie with St Mirren, who sit just three points above Livi in eighth.
The Saints are winless in four games and have only one victory to their name this season.
They follow that up with a trip to similarly out of form Queen of the South.
Queen’s have picked up just two draws from their last six league games, and their home record reads three defeats from five matches and 13 goals conceded.
Seven days later Livi host Raith, who’s second spot in the table is founded on a superb home record.
Rovers’ have just one win away from Stark’s Park, netting only twice on the road this term.
The final match of this little quartet is a visit to Greenock Morton, who haven’t won their last four contests and who are winless at Cappielow Park, suffering three defeats.
Livingston are 6/4 to finish bottom this season, and this next run of games after the international break will have a big say in how that price changes.
