How Twitter reacted to Wales’ heroic Euro 2016 qualification

Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Chris Coleman and the whole of Wales were celebrating wildly upon the final whistle, as if they’d just won the World Cup.

They’d actually just lost a game, to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their penultimate Euro 2016 qualifier, but results elsewhere meant the Dragons were heading to a major tournament for the first time since 1958. This must be what winning the World Cup feels like.

Matching the celebrations on the Bilino Polje pitch, where the Klinsmann dive and the birthday bumps were favourites, Twitter and the rest of social media revelled in the achievement of Coleman’s men.
