How Twitter reacted to Celtic’s 3-1 defeat to Molde

Published:

With Celtic manager Ronny Deila heading back to his homeland to take on Molde many expected Celtic’s run of eight Europa League away games without a win to come to an end.

However, the Bhoys hadn’t banked on the return of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lifting the mid-table Norwegians to new heights and a dismal night for Celtic ended in a comprehensive 3-1 win for the hosts.

Here’s the best of the preamble and reaction to last night’s events from Twitter (and YouTube)…

Before the game had even started the Celtic fans were in fine voice after learning that former Chelsea and West Ham striker Carlton Cole, 32, had signed a season-long contract after impressing in training…

The jubilation was short-lived, however, with Ola Kamara and Vegard Forren putting the hosts 2-0 up inside 20 minutes. Opta were on hand to stick the boot in shortly after with a well-timed stat…

Kris Commons pulled one back for the visitors shortly after the break, only to see the two-goal lead restored by Mohamed Elyounoussi just a minute later.

Commons had been the main source of attack for the Hoops all night so was surprised to see his number held up with 15 minutes to play as Deila introduced Nadir Ciftci.

It’s fair to say Commons wasn’t in agreement with the decision…

Commons wasn’t the only one who thought his boss got it wrong, though, with the Scottish Sun’s poll showing the striker had the majority of Celtic fans behind him…

Player spats aside the final word was had by Deila himself, with the Celtic boss in no doubt as to what his side need to do in order to qualify…
