Tottenham and Liverpool renew hostilities in this weekend’s stand-out Premier League clash and once again we’ve taken a trip down memory lane to provide this dose of nostalgia.
It’s fair to say the pair have served up some pretty exciting fare in the past with goals flying in at both ends.
Here’s hoping we see more of the same this Saturday lunchtime.

Liverpool 6-2 Tottenham, Saturday 8 May 1993
Graeme Souness’ Liverpool outfit signed off the inaugural season of the Premier League in fine fashion and in doing so recorded a second successive sixth-placed finish.
Braces from Ian Rush and John Barnes plus a Stuart Nethercott own goal and a Mark Walters penalty did the damage with Rush’s first effort his 300th goal for the Reds.
Teddy Sheringham and Steve Sedgley netted Spurs’ replies but their late capitulation meant they returned to north London licking their wounds.

Spurs had led on three occasions before eventually having to settle for a point following a highly-entertaining encounter at the Lane.
Jurgen Klinsmann gave the hosts an early lead before Steve McManaman equalised.
David Ginola and Ramon Vega were the other scorers for Christian Gross’ side but they couldn’t make their advantage count, leaving Paul Ince and McManaman again to level matters.

Liverpool secured their first win at White Hart Lane since 1996 with The Guardian highlighting the influence of a young midfielder who would go on to become an Anfield legend.
The headline ‘Gerrard sparks new life into Liverpool’ is pretty self-explanatory and it was Stevie G’s trademark enthusiasm that eventually carried his team over the line.
The afternoon didn’t start well for the visitors though. A Jerzy Dudek howler meant Mauricio Taricco made a rare appearance on the scoresheet.
Michael Owen equalised before Emile Heskey gave the Merseysiders the lead and then an excellent Gerrard run and finish looked to have put the result beyond doubt.
Teddy Sheringham, so often a menace to Liverpool, gave Spurs hope but it was too little, too late.

This result meant Spurs secured a third win in a row against Liverpool and in some style.
To further compound their misery, the Reds were reduced to nine men with Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel receiving their marching orders on a pretty miserable day out in north London.
Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice on his home debut while Luka Modric and Jermain Defoe also found the back of the net as Kenny Dalglish’s side were comprehensively beaten.
Modric’s goal in particular was a bit special…

Spurs fans must’ve been pretty sick of the sight of Liverpool in the 2013-14 season given the fact that Brendan Rodgers’ men smashed nine goals past the Lilywhite in their two encounters.
On this occasion it was a double salvo from Luis Suarez and goals from Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and defender Jon Flanagan (yep) that humiliated their shell-shocked opponents.
Paulinho saw red for the home side on an afternoon to forget.
