Voters send a clear message to Arsene Wenger – “it’s time to go”

The whole ‘Arsene Wenger – should he stay or should he go?’ debate has been brewing for the best part of a decade according to certain sections of the Arsenal support.

And in this latest twist the tide has once again turned against the Frenchman with the vast majority of voters sending a clear message to the Gunners boss.

In today’s poll we asked you whether it was time for Wenger to step aside, following a miserable 3-2 home loss to Olympiacos in the Champions League last night.

And the result was 81 per cent of you have gone on record as saying that there needs to be a change at the Emirates.

Arsenal face an uphill battle to qualify from Group F after a second successive defeat in Europe, both against decidedly weaker opposition.

The choice to leave Petr Cech on the bench and play calamity ‘keeper David Ospina against the Greek side certainly rattled a good number of fans but it’s the general dissatisfaction with what some perceive as years of underachievement that’s rearing its ugly head again.

Wenger was undoubtedly a visionary when he first arrived on English shores back in 1996, promptly guiding the north London club to three Premier League titles in the process.

But it appears that any goodwill towards the 65-year-old is now evaporating faster than ever.
