Stuart McLaren: Lander loan to boost Stirling Albion Fortunes

Stirling Albion have received a shot in the arm thanks to the loan signing of St Johnstone striker Kyle Lander.
That is the opinion of Binos boss Stuart McLaren, who claims the 19-year-old’s presence in the Forthbank dressing room will give his ailing side a new attacking dimension.
McLaren’s side are yet to pick up a win this season, with the 1-1 draw with Annan Athletic three weeks ago earning them their solitary point.
However, while the Springkerse outfit have lost three of their four games this term, two of those losses came by a solitary goal where the Binos failed to hit the back of the net.
McLaren is without long-term absentee Craig Beattie and hopes the arrival of the talented teenager will give his side the cutting edge they have been lacking so far.
“We are very pleased to have a player of Kyle’s ability joining us,” the Binos boss said.
“He will provide us with additional attacking threat and I’m sure his hunger and desire, along with his quality, will make his time with us a success.”
Lander will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to East Stirling and despite their problems this season the visitors go into the tie as slight favourites.
McLaren’s men can be backed at 13/10 to take all three points at Ochilview Park, while it is 13/8 that Craig Tully’s side emerge victorious.
With 2013’s 9-1 victory over East Stirling still in the mind, Binos fans will hope the weekend sees a return to scoring form for the visitors, who have netted just twice this term.
And the omens look good with Lander in the side, as the teenager netted on his senior debut for Livingstone, scoring as a 17-year-old in a 3-0 win over Dumbarton.
With the youngster keen to impress and the fact that seven of the last eight meetings between these sides have seen both teams score the 8/15 on both clubs netting on Saturday also looks a solid bet.
