Leicester ace to get over England frustrations with derby goal

Jamie Vardy’s excellent form for Leicester earned the livewire striker a call up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the recent Euro qualifiers, although the Foxes man couldn’t find the net against San Marino.

Although he played the entire match, Vardy may have missed a window of opportunity by failing to get himself onto the scoresheet against the minnows.

Nevertheless, two goals in his opening four Premier League outings for Vardy have helped Claudio Ranieri’s King Power Stadium tenure get off to a fine start, with Leicester unbeaten on eight points before they entertain Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Having made a fantastic impact in Leicester’s remarkable escape act last season, it’s no surprise to Foxes fans to see the former Fleetwood forward hit the ground running in the Premier League again.

With Villa in town and looking vulnerable after losing twice and drawing since scraping a win at Bournemouth on the opening day, Vardy looks a fine bet to grab the first goal of the game on Sunday teatime.

He’s 9/2 to fire the Foxes in front, something he’s already done at home this season to set Leicester en route for a 4-2 rout of Sunderland.
