Ladbrokes Premiership: Aberdeen title odds tumble as Dons win again
Aberdeen’s record-breaking run in the Ladbrokes Premiership continued at the weekend, with the Dons making it eight wins from eight with a 3-1 victory away to Hearts.
The result means the Dons are now five points clear at the top of the table and Derek McInnes’ side have seen their title odds slashed from 11/2 before the game to 4/1 on Monday morning.
Defeat for Hearts means Robbie Neilson’s side’s spectacular start to the campaign – five wins from five – has been curtailed somewhat with three successive losses.
The Jambos now lie in third place some nine points behind the leaders, with Celtic, who returned to winning ways with a 6-0 rout of Dundee, sitting in second place.
The Bhoys shook off their 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen, with Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths putting the hosts 2-0 up by the break.
An Emilio Izaguirre brace and a first Celtic goal for Nadir Ciftci put the Hoops out of sight before Scott brown put the icing on the cake three minutes from time.
Ross County continue their impressive form with a 1-0 win over basement boys Partick Thistle to put themselves just a point behind Hearts and leave Thistle without a win this season.
Hamilton stopped the rot with 1-0 win over Motherwell bring an end to a run of two straight defeats, a result which means Well have won just one of their last seven and sit just two points above the relegation play-off place.
St Johnstone warmed up for their cup clash with an in-form Rangers side in the worst possible way, with a confidence-sapping 2-1 loss away to Kilmarnock, with Killie now looking to have kick-started their season with back-to-back wins.
And finally it was a case of two steps forward and one step back for Inverness, as Caley Thistle failed to fully build on an impressive 2-0 win over Hearts by drawing 1-1 with a struggling Dundee United side, the Terrors first point in five matches.
