Ladbrokes Championship: Raith to maintain perfect home record

Published:

There may be just three games in the Ladbrokes Championship this Saturday afternoon, but there’s still plenty to play for come 3pm. Alloa and Livingston play out a bottom of the table clash, while Hibernian and Raith look to maintain winning runs.

Here’s your weekly preview…

Alloa v Livingston

Alloa and Livingston have claimed one win between them this term though both sides can point to solid performances last time out.

The Wasps held third placed Falkirk to a 1-1 draw, while Livi put up a strong fight in a 1-0 loss to Hibs.

Having faced four of the league’s top five sides in recent weeks, this game sparks a run of four for Mark Burchill’s men against teams in the bottom half, and he’ll be keen to rack up some points.

Expect a spirited performance as both sides go for the win, only to cancel each other out just like the last time Livingston visited Alloa back in March in a 2-2 draw.

Best Bet: Draw @ 12/5

Hibernian v St Mirren

Hibs are the only side apart from Rangers to take nine points from their last three games and they host a St Mirren team which has mustered a solitary win this term.

A leaky defence has been costing the visitors dear, with Saints claiming just two clean sheets in all competitions.

In contrast, the Hibbees have won their last five games to nil including cup games, and aside from their two clashes with Rangers, only Dumbarton have netted past Alan Stubbs’ stern backline.

Best Bet: Hibernian to win to nil @ 11/8

Raith v Dumbarton

Two wins on the spin has lifted Raith firmly into the top half.

They lost at Celtic in the cup on Wednesday but can bounce back here against a struggling Dumbarton.

After victories in their opening two league games, the Sons are now winless in five with a draw at Morton the only point in that spell.

Dumbarton lost both visits to Stark’s Park last season, and though they managed a goal in each game, a current run of just two strikes in five games suggests that’s unlikely this time around especially as Raith are yet to concede at home.

Best Bet: Raith to win to nil @ 13/5
