History boys Japan pulled off ‘biggest ever sporting shock’

There have been countless shocks in sporting history but last weekend’s Rugby World Cup win for Japan against South Africa tops the lot, according to Ladbrokes News voters.
Japan’s rugby stars produced a stunning 34-32 victory over the Springboks to secure a first World Cup victory in 24 years for the Rising Sun nation and thus propel them to the top of our poll on 58 per cent.

That’s despite the fact the Americans pulled off an incredible 4-3 victory to defeat the USSR and give their illustrious opponents a bloody nose having watched the Ruskies clean up in previous Winter Olympics.
