Forgotten Hero to round off our Doncaster day two Lucky 15

There’s only one way to play things at Doncaster on Thursday, with four races seeing 20 or more runners, and that is by taking the each-way option.
As the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival enters its second day we’ve put together a Lucky 15 that could leave you rolling in it.
As well as our, hopefully, winning picks, the treats just keep on coming this week as well.

Although she has to carry a penalty for her Group 3 victory, it would be no surprise to see Tracey Collin’s mare making the frame.
A winner of the Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes in May, she had the subsequent Group winner New Providence and Evita Peron in behind who went on to win a Listed contest next time out.
Since then she has run well in defeat, beaten less than 2l, but placed in two Group races following that Lingfield victory. Her sixth at Deauville is better than it looks, getting within 2½l of champion sprinter elect Muhaarar despite meeting trouble in running.
Always one to run her race, she could start us off in style.
The fact that Sir Michael Stoute’s charge was just over a length behind Gretchen at Newmarket last time, yet is more than double the price in this contest, could make the four-year-old a spot of value.
This first step up to 1m6f could bring out more judging by her performance in the latter stages of her two most recent races over 2f shorter.
Staying the trip looks assured based on that and with the additional comfort that she is the half-sister to Lyric Street a decent staying handicapper for Ed Dunlop, should relish the test.
Reversal of the form with Gretchen would be a start, but there could be even more to come under Frankie Detorri.
Receiving weight from the vast majority of the field adds to the feeling that this one could be outstanding value all things considered.
The form of the colt’s of last four runs looks rock solid. Most recently he was narrowly beaten by Welford who went on to go well enough in the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
Before that, a tight loss to Rouleau, who went on to win at Group level and a victory over subsequent Listed winner Time Warp should stand him in good stead.
Equally effective over 6f or 7f, he should find this intermediate distance just to his liking.
Don’t let figures of 840 in Forgotten Hero’s form put you off too much, as a closer look explains that there are reasons to be hopeful.
First off his last two runs have seen him beaten by less than 4l so he has been by no means smashed up.
Secondly he doesn’t seem to stay the 12f trip in his race before than when finishing well down the field at Royal Ascot.
Back at 1m2f there is a lot to like about his profile. He’s now only 5lb above the mark he won off at Newmarket over this trip in May and with Charlie Hills’ stable running well, gets the nod for us.
