Look east to Estonia, Ukraine and Russia in Saturday’s Euro acca

Published:

Here at Ladbrokes News we’ve already had one five-fold acca let down by a 1/3 shot in Croatia fumbling their way to a goalless draw in this International period, but we won’t let that put us off.

Followers of Thursday’s multiple will have been relieved to have the bookmaker’s money back offer come into play.

And with money returned as a free bet on all accumulators with five teams or more if one lets you down applicable to Saturday’s fixtures, then it would be silly not to dive straight in again.*

Here’s our 16/1 offering to help make this weekend a special one.

FYR Macedonia to beat Luxembourg @ Evens

In truth, both these sides are pretty terrible, it’s just that we feel that the visitors are less bad than their hosts. Macedonia have been far from disgraced in defeats to Belarus, Slovakia and Ukraine, and managed to bag a goalless draw against Australia in March.

They snatched victory at the death when these two met in Skopje, and with the Luxembergers failing to win on their own patch in two years, we expect the away side to come through with too much once again.

Estonia to beat Lithuania @ 11/10

Lithuania have only scored one goal in the seven matches (and six defeats) since they secured a narrow victory over Estonia in Vilnius last year.

With home advantage, we expect the points to head the other way this time round, with Magnus Pehrsson’s men putting in some decent performances lately.

A victory over San Marino was expected but a 2-0 win against Finland and holding the high-flying Iceland to a draw will hold them in good stead in Tallinn.

Russia to beat Sweden @ Evens

At first glance, this one looks hard to separate the sides, but delving deeper it’s the hosts that are fancied to triumph.

Sweden’s form of three wins in their last four looks impressive, but in truth none were of the same quality as Russia.

And with one win in their last seven on the road, need to be opposed. The hosts meanwhile will be up for retribution after being shocked by a solitary goal against Austria last time out.

Having won eight of their nine competitive matches on home soil prior to that defeat, we feel they have a big chance to claim the three points.

Ukraine to beat Belarus @ 2/5

It could be a struggle for Belarus to even get on the scoresheet in L’viv with Ukraine conceding just three goals in their last 13 matches on their own patch.

With nine of those matches seeing the hosts take victory, it looks tough for the away side to get anything from the contest.

Throw in that they have lost their last two, albeit against Spain and Russia, held to a goalless draw against Gabon and barely scraped past the poor Macedonia and it means our money is only going one way.

Switzerland to beat Slovenia @ 10/21

A win against San Marino is the only thing Slovenia have got to show for their last five outings with two defeats to England, one to Colombia and one to Qatar leaving them in dire straits.

A visit to face a Swiss side that boast a strong home record surely won’t help that with the hosts winning nine of their last 14 matches on their own turf.

Victory would confirm at least a play-off spot for Vladimir Petkovic’s men, while further damaging the Slovenian qualification hopes.
