Dundee United value pick to top score this weekend

Dundee United look to be a value pick in Ladbrokes’ top flight specials this weekend, with the Terrors at long odds to top score.

Celtic, who face arguably their biggest challenge of the season away to Aberdeen are the 19/4 favourites to be the highest scoring team this weekend, while the Terrors, who are at home to winless Kilmarnock can be backed at the more attractive price of 5/1.

Killie have lost four and drawn two of their six games so far, conceding at least two in every match bar one and shipping four on two occasions, to Dundee and Ross County.

United are also struggling in the league, having won just once this season, but their recent meetings with Saturday’s opponents will have Jackie McNamara’s side confident of finally turning on the style.

The Terrors have scored two or more goals against Killie in five of the last six meetings and with the 2013-14 season seeing 5-2 and 4-1 wins over Gary Locke’s men there’s plenty to suggest the hosts will be among the goals at Tannadice once again.

Anyone not convinced that United can be the dominant side when Killie come to town, though could be swayed by the 17/4 on their meeting being the highest scoring game of the weekend.

Once again Aberdeen’s hosting of Celtic is the favourite here, at odds of 4/1, but with Killie beating Dundee United 3-2 last time the pair clashed and scoring in nine of the last 10 meetings there could be a glut of goals at both ends on Saturday.
