Central Park to become focal point of Cowdenbeath revival

There wasn’t much to shout about for Cowdenbeath fans last season as they endured relegation from the Championship, and so far it’s been much the same this term too.
One win from four games is hardly inspiring, but with back-to-back home contests coming up, Cowden can now get their campaign up and belatedly running.
Away from Central Park, the Blue Brazil have suffered badly, losing all three matches and conceding 14 goals in the process.
On home soil it’s been a much tighter affair however, and that bodes well for the weeks to come.
The Miners have conceded just once from open play at home this term, with Stranraer needing a last minute penalty to claim a 2-1 win on the opening day.
Cowden suffered further late agony last time out at Airdrieonians, who scored twice in the final 15 minutes to claim a 3-2 victory.
But for a bit more focus in the final minutes, player-manager Colin Nish’s side could be sitting nicely in mid-table, four points better off.
Thus far however, a hard-fought 1-0 win over a physical Albion is Cowden’s only positive result, but that win can provide a platform to build on over the next fortnight when they host Peterhead and Forfar.
Both sides have started well this season in Ladbrokes League 1, but with a couple of home games coming up, boss Jimmy Nichol can take stock, regroup and gather some composure.
Skipper John Armstrong was invaluable in that 1-0 success over Albion, while the arrival of the highly-rated midfielder Andy Murdoch on loan from Rangers can only be another boost to the side.
Goals have been hard to come by at Central Park, and the Blue Brazil will be keen to keep it that way.
