Accumulator hero targets £1m payout from the bookies

We all love the ritual involved in betting on accumulators. Whether it’s going in to a shop or putting our fingers to good use on a mobile or tablet, placing an acca has become a weekend staple for many of us.
And there’s one man in particular who has absolutely nailed them.
Bookmaker Ladbrokes is running scared of a customer who’s been labelled ‘Britain’s deadliest football accumulator punter’ following a flurry of big wins.
That’s quite a tag to earn yourself.
Here’s his recent rap sheet. You’ll soon see how he’s earned his reputation…
- – Prolific punter landed £15,886 from a bumper Boxing Day payout, all from a £10 stake on 12 teams.
- – Most recent big came was £44,718 from a £10, 12 team bet.
- – Acca hero has also won £5,000 and £1,700
How did he do it?
The 32-year-old groundworker from Leicester was indebted to his hometown team’s win away at West Ham in August 2015, a result that was included in less than 3 per cent of coupons nationwide.
And he isn’t about to stop here. He’s targeting a whopping £1 MILLION win.
The winner said: “The money’s in the bank and my luck is in so why not aim for the jackpot? One hundred grand before the end of the month would be nice but my target is the million and I’ll be sticking with my system.”
The Leicester City fan has already spent some of the winnings on a new Ford Focus ST.
And while he didn’t want to share the secret to his success in full he did reveal part of his thinking.
“I’ll always go for the teams that I think ought to win and that I’ve stuck with, but I then throw some funny results in as there are upsets in football each week and most punters never pick them out” he added.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Most football fans are doing well to land a five figure accumulator once in a lifetime so to bash the bookies with two in eight months is unheard of. We don’t think we’ve known anyone go on such a hot streak in as short a space of time and all we can do is bow down whilst counting out the cash.”
