In combination with forward Jeremain Lens, who Advocaat picked up from Dynamo Kiev, the former Anderlecht youth would certainly give the Black Cats forward line a dose of trickery and pace.
No doubt keen to revitalise his career, despite being only 20-years-old, the Belgian winger would hope that an extended run in a Premier League first team will either convince Van Gaal to give him more chances or persuade another team to sign him permanently.
