West Ham and Bournemouth the movers in Charlie Austin pursuit

Queens Park Rangers have this week confirmed they have received two concrete offers for striker Charlie Austin, and according to the betting one of those has been from West Ham.

The Hammers are known to be on the look-out for reinforcements further up the pitch, and  following the recent news as well as a flurry of bets, they are now favourites to land his signature.

Available to back at 10/1 on Monday, Slaven Bilics’ men now head the way at 7/4 to be the former Swindon man’s club after the close of the summer transfer window.

The other movers in the market are Bournemouth.

A reunion with Eddie Howe, the man that brought him to Burnley in 2011 has been cut from 8/1 into 3/1 overnight.

The Cherries were undoubtedly unlucky to be on the wrong side of the officials’ decisions against Liverpool on Monday night, but it is becoming clear that they need a proven striker added to their ranks.

Callum Wilson may yet come good, but the addition of Austin, who fired 18 goals for QPR in the Premier League last season, could be the missing piece of the jigsaw to help them to top-flight safety.

Drifters in the market were Newcastle, who have gone from 6/5 out to 2/1 to land the 26-year-old.

The arrival of Aleksandar Mitrovic in July may have put the Toon’s search for another striker on the back-burner, though they could yet pounce.

All could depend on which club first meets the R’s’ valuation of £15m for their prized asset.

Manager Chris Ramsay has, according to the Mirror, said that the Loftus Road outfit need to sell Austin in order to rebuild their team, but they will not budge on their asking price.

It is 5/1 that no one matches what his current club are after and that another season in west London is on the cards for Austin, in what is becoming the drawn out transfer saga of the summer.
