The Weekly Acca: West Ham rub shoulders with Leverkusen

Published:

Ah, accas. We all love them. It’s a weekend ritual, a Saturday staple. And this is the start of our attempt to nail them this season with West Ham, Preston, Coventry, Leyton Orient and Leverkusen our inaugural Weekly Acca picks.

Using that tried and trusted mix of statistical knowledge, optimism or as some might say, blind faith, our selections have each been carefully mulled over.

This particularly tasty five-fold pays out at 46/1. And if one team lets you down then the good news is that Ladbrokes have got your back.

It’s pretty simple. If you get five out of five you’re a winner. If you get four out of five you don’t lose and the bookie will refund you with a free bet.*

So, make sure you’re on…

West Ham to beat Leicester

Two of last weekend’s star performers meet at the Boleyn and while you can make a pretty solid case for either side it’s the Hammers who get the nod.

Slaven Bilic’s Claret and Blues were outstanding against Arsenal. They can serve it up again to a Foxes side, who despite last season’s late run, still managed to lose 12 of their away games.

Preston to beat MK Dons

Preston took four points off the Dons as both marched towards the Championship last season and they’ll be confident of plundering more here.

Karl Robinson’s men were outstanding in their 4-1 thrashing of Rotherham but they’ve failed to beat the Lancashire outfit in their eight previous meetings. Hopefully a role reversal isn’t in store.

Coventry to beat Millwall

The Sky Blues will be chuffed at having taken the scalp of pre-season favourites Wigan on the opening day and they’ll have their eye on creating more headlines in south London.

Neil Harris’ Lions were disappointing losers in the cup against Barnet in midweek and that will have done nothing to please their success-starved faithful.

Wall have won just two of their last 16 league fixtures at home while Coventry are unbeaten in six on the road, winning four of those contests.

Leyton Orient to beat Dagenham

Conceding seven goals in their opening two games of the season is not ideal from Dagenham’s perspective and life is not about to get any easier.

Orient were 2-0 victors against their Essex neighbours when they met in last season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and Ian Hendon’s side are likely to be far too strong for their opponents once again.

Leverkusen to beat Hoffenheim

Yep, a continental selection. This game is still covered by Ladbrokes’ money back offer and should be fairly cut and dried.

Leverkusen have won 12 of their 14 Bundesliga meetings with Hoffenheim, registering a 2-0 success in their final home match of the previous campaign.

This is only going one way folks.
