Sharp Shooter: Pelle, Austin and former Gunners tipped

The football season may still be in the opening stages but there are already plenty of strikers who have found their feet.

And thanks to Ladbrokes’ new Sharp Shooter offer punters can cash in on those who have hit the ground running with Double Odds on First Goalscorer bets.

Thanks to this new offer punters will see their odds doubled on First Goalscorer bets if their selection opens the scoring in the first 25 minutes in any domestic televised game.

This week’s picks start with in-form Southampton ace Graziano Pelle who will attempt to keep his scoring start going at home to Everton.

The Italian has netted two goals in as many games hits season, scoring against Vitesse in Europe and Newcastle in the Premier League opener, and is priced at 4/1 to strike first here.

Interestingly, though, both of the former Feyenoord man’s strikes this season have come in the opening 25 minutes. Repeat the trick and the bookmaker be paying out at a handsome 8/1.

Next up is in-demand QPR striker Charlie Austin, who despite a cacophony of transfer noise, remains at Loftus Road for the visit of Cardiff.

The Hoops ace was on fire last term and managed to open the scoring three times – twice in the required timeframe for this offer to cop – and having dropped back down to the second tier and playing in front of home crow the ex-bricklayer looks a steal at 4/1 – especially if that rises to 8/1.

And completing this week’s tips are a pair of striker with an Arsenal link who face off in the Championship.

Chuba Akpom is now on loan at the KC Stadium and has started his career with a bang, scoring two goals in his first two games.

This weekend he’ll line up against Benik Afobe, who left the Emirates for Wolves in January, and has started the season in exactly the same fashion.

Akpom can be backed at 13/2 to open the scoring at Molineux – but we’ll pay out at 13/1 if that happens in the first 25 minutes – and Afobe can be backed at 5/1 to beat his rival to the punch – with Ladbrokes’ Sharp Shooter seeing those odds potentially rise to a whopping 10/1.
