Poll: Is Louis van Gaal “destroying” Manchester United

Published:

Manchester United are reportedly on the brink of signing Barcelona ace Pedro but a former Catalan giant has urged the Spaniard to spurn the lure of Old Trafford.

Former Bulgaria international striker Hristo Stoichkov, who played over 250 games for the La Liga side, was scathing about United manager Van Gaal in a recent interview with Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

The former Bulgaria, Celta Vigo ND CSKA Sofia manager slammed the Dutchman’s man-management at United and claimed that despite winning tow league titles, the Copa del Rey and the Uefa Super Cup during his Nou Camp reign Van Gall “destroyed” Barcelona.

“I would never be under the orders of Van Gaal. He’s mediocre. He destroyed Barca and is destroying Manchester United,” he told the radio station.

If Van Gaal acquires all of his rumoured targets he will take his United spending to beyond £250m in his short spell as boss and while this shows he can attract top talent, Stoichkov warned Pedro that his personality means he doesn’t know how to handle those that arrive.

“With what he has done to goalkeeper [Victor] Valdes he has shown he is a bad person. Hopefully Pedro listens to me and doesn’t leave,” he added.

With the scathing comments getting plenty of attention online and on social media, we’re asking you, the Ladbrokes News readers just one simply question today. Is Van Gaal destroying Manchester United?
