Poll: Can AFC Bournemouth stay up this season?

Published:

Two games in and AFC Bournemouth can be in no doubt about the challenge of life in the top flight.

Eddie Howe’s Cherries find themselves in the bottom three with no points, and more tellingly no goals, after consecutive 1-0 defeats to Aston Villa and Liverpool.

However, the results do not tell the full story with Bournemouth fans being treated to long spells of the free-flowing, attacking football they became accustomed to seeing last season.

While the likes of Dan Gosling, Marc Pugh and Callum Wilson were guilty of failing to take their chances in the season opener against Villa, Howe’s men can rightly feel aggrieved to have not left Anfield with at least a point.

At times, those watching on Sky Sports would have thought the Cherries were the home side, such was their control over large parts of the game, but a harshly-disallowed Tommy Elphick header and a clear offside in the build up to Christian Benteke’s winner ensured the wait for Bournemouth’s first ever top flight win continues.

Cherries fans will feel that their side are just a proven finisher away from having a squad that can compete and as such will hope rumours of a bid for Glenn Murray and/or Charlie Austin bear fruit before the weekend’s trip to West Ham.

But, transfer speculation to one side, Ladbrokes News wants to know how you think the seasiders will fare this season.

The question is simple, Will Bournemouth stay up? Or will they drop back down to the Championship?
