The Professor, The Believer, Mr. Brightside, The Gut Truster and Generous John are all playing along.

This is our gameweek 1 update.

And here’s how they’re approaching the next round of fixtures:

The Professor

Jordan Ibe comes in for Jack Colback ahead of Liverpool’s encounter with Bournemouth. There were some encouraging moments for the youngster against Stoke and although classified as a midfielder, he looks likely to start in a more advanced position.

Liverpool scored two goals at home against each of last season’s newly-promoted clubs. For that reason I’ve made Christian Benteke my captain given his record in front of goal.

Meanwhile, Reece Oxford comes in off the bench after his magnificent performance against Arsenal while the Gunners’ Laurent Koscielny is dropped ahead of a difficult trip to Crystal Palace.

Mr Brightside

Big games call for big game players so Man City’s Sergio Aguero and Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson come off the bench to replace Moussa Sissoko and Chris Brunt.

Elsewhere, Harry Kane retains the armband as Spurs face Stoke at White Hart Lane so no transfers have been made. What’s the worst that can happen?

Generous John

It wasn’t the best of starts for my team with Thibaut Courtois being sent off. I’ve had to bring in a replacement and in all honesty this wasn’t a difficult choice. Man City looked solid and for that reason Joe Hart has been transferred in as the man between the sticks.

Hate to say it but I missed out on some big points last weekend. I only went and left star man Riyad Mahrez on the bench. Doh! But the man of the moment has been added to the first 11 so let’s hope his hot streak continues.

We didn’t see much of Olivier Giroud in the game against West Ham but being the generous man that I am, I’ve decided to stick with the big man as my captain for another week.

The Gut Truster

I like to keep things simple. Santi Cazorla, you’re out. Yannick Bolasie, you’re in. The Palace midfielder could make mincemeat of his Arsenal opponent.

Eden Hazard is being made my skipper. He’s got a tough brief this weekend at the Etihad. But he’s going to be my man for big occasion, I can feel it.

And at the back Seamus Coleman is out and Ashley Williams is in.

The Believer

It wasn’t only the Special One that was disappointed in Courtois last weekend, he cost me valuable points!

But luckily enough I’ve got the ever-reliable Lukasz Fabianski replacing the Belgian.

The back four stays the same. Per Mertesacker and Branislav Ivanovic both had off weeks but those boys don’t have performances like that two weeks in a row and I’m keeping the faith.

The big news in my fantasy team is that Danny Ings is out. He won’t get much playing time at Liverpool and is replaced by Batetimbi Gomis.

He impressed me at the weekend and it seems like the Swansea faithful are getting behind this character.

My only worry is Swansea’s opposition. Newcastle kept the Southampton attack at bay for most of the match and the same could happen at the Liberty.
