How Celtic fans reacted to Champions League exit
Published:Celtic departed the Champions League at the play-off round for the second year in succession last night, but that hasn’t stopped the Bhoys faithful from backing their side.
A Markus Rosenberg opener in addition to an unfortunate Dedryck Boyota own-goal in the second half consigned Ronny Deila’s men to a 2-0 defeat on the night and a 4-3 loss on aggregate against Swedish counterparts Malmo.
Nir Bitton had a goal controversially ruled out in Sweden which may have changed the complexion of the tie, but the disappointed Hoops are now entered into the Europa League draw later this week.
Though not the result any Celtic fan would have wanted, plenty of the Parkhead faithful were looking for positives and keeping their heads up for the season ahead…
So disappointed as #Celtic crash out of Champions League. A well always 6 more matches in the Europa League.

There’s sometimes disappointment, often frustration, occasional heartbreak but never shame in supporting #Celtic #Celticfamily

Faithful, through & through. #Celtic

While some fans rallied around the squad, others went for a more analytical approach to last night’s encounter…
So the general consensus is that we need 1 or 2 senior players for these ties. Still gutted, but hope that lessons have been learned.#Celtic

And who’s to say the Hoops won’t go on a little Europa League run this term?..
Gutted treble is a must now and a must to go far in Europa League! #Celtic @celticfc

I know we’re all gutted, but I hope we can show we’re Faithful Through and Through and pack out Celtic Park for the Europa League
