Bournemouth are staying up! But only just according to poll

They may have nothing to show for their efforts so far, not even a goal, but that hasn’t stopped Ladbrokes News readers keeping the faith in AFC Bournemouth’s survival bid.

In all fairness, it’s harsh to say that the south coast have failed to hit the back of the net in the Premier League given the cruel way Tommy Elphick’s ‘goal’ was scrubbed off against Liverpool last night.

But the fact remains Eddie Howe’s side are already facing an uphill battle to retain their top-flight status.

However, there is a ray of light.

In one of our tightest ever polls, 52 per cent of voters backed Bournemouth to avoid the drop while 48 per cent of you feel the Cherries’ stay amongst the elite will be short-lived.

The general consensus following their first two games has been pretty balanced. It’s clear that the new boys are capable of replicating the easy on the eye style they brought to the Championship last term.

But with chances at a premium at the highest level, Howe’s charges have been finding out the hard way how crucial it is to have a cutting edge.

Sign a proven Premier League striker and there might just be more of you willing to back them to beat the drop.
