Remember the affable Dutchman that kept Sunderland up in 2014/15 and then earned yet more Wearside affection by answering the call to return rather than retire? Well Dick Advocaat is now the strong favourite among his Premier League peers to be next out the door.
Mrs Advocaat could be booking up that cruise round the Norwegian fjords after all, according to the latest betting from Ladbrokes anyway.
The Sunderland manager is the evens favourite to be the next top-flight manager to leave, following on from summer casualties Sam Allardyce, Nigel Pearson and John Carver of last season’s cohort.
