Premier League Countdown: West Ham to win 10 or more home games

Published:

West Ham will bid farewell to Upton Park at the end of this season and Ladbrokes are offering a huge price that the Irons bow out in style.

The east London club will vacate the Boleyn Ground to take up residence at the Olympic Stadium and the Ladbrokes traders are offering a huge 12/1 that Hammers fans witness at least 10 home wins during their last campaign at the famous ground.

The price comes as part of the bookmakers’ Premier League Countdown Specials series and with less than two weeks to go until the big kick-off the odds are coming in thick and fast.

West Ham haven’t been consistent performers when it comes to reaching double figures in the home win department but they’ve been knocking on the door in recent years.

United have notched up nine home wins in two of the last three seasons and have managed 10 or more on eight occasions since the start of the Premier League.

Four of those hauls – 11 in 2012, 13 in 2005, 12 in 2004 and 15 in 1993 – came outside the top flight but they’ve also achieved the feat four times in the past in Premier League action.

The Golden years of 1997-2000 saw the Irons deliver 12, 11 and 11 home wins respectively and with Slaven Bilic backed to take the Hammers in an upward direction a return to those figures could be on the cards- starting this season.

The Irons begin their home campaign against last year’s relegation battlers Leicester before newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth are the visitors to Upton Park.

Newcastle and Norwich are next in line so there is every reason to suggest Bilic will have built a fortress at his old stomping ground well before October, giving the Irons a solid platform to deliver on this fantastic Countdown Price Boost.
