Poll: Who should Arsenal sign with their £200m war chest?

Published:

Apart from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsenal can pretty much sign any player in the world given the £200m war chest available to manager Arsene Wenger.

That’s the latest coming out of the Emirates with Arsenal director Lord Harris in bullish mood about the healthy cash surplus the Gunners have to play with.

But who should Arsenal break the bank for?

Vote now and tell us which of the following names you think Wenger should prioritise.

Alexandre Lacazette

Priced around the £40m mark by Lyon coach Hubert Fournier, Lacazette wouldn’t come cheap but that doesn’t seem to be an issue for Arsenal.

The highly-rated Ligue 1 star has reaffirmed his commitment to the club recently but maybe when he visits the Emirates this weekend his head will be turned.

Karim Benzema

Benzema is ‘certain’ to stay at Real Madrid, so says his agent anyway.

But could the lure of the Premier League and a move to a club that’s now steeped in Gallic tradition tempt the French international?

Wenger has also cooled speculation linking the 27-year-old with a switch to north London but is he just being coy?

Robert Lewandowski

According to reports, Lewanwdoski is Arsenal’s back-up if a deal for Benzema falls through.

That’s a pretty tasty plan B with the Bayern Munich forward highly-sought after by a number of clubs, including the Gunners’ main transfer rivals at Old Trafford.

Wenger wants a superstar striker and there appears to be plenty of options on the table.

William Carvalho

United sign Morgan Schneiderlin so that ends their interest in Carvalho and a clear avenue for Arsenal to explore. That’s pretty sound logic in transfer land?

The Sporting Lisbon star would certainly be a decent addition in midfield but should he be the Gunners’ top target?

Mats Hummels

Will this guy ever leave Borussia Dortmund? He might do if the price is right but the German World Cup winner may need some convincing having gone on record to say a move to Manchester United would be his preferred option.

Hummels will be staying on at Dortmund for at least another year but has refused to give assurances about his long-term future.

Money talks and all that. Time to splash the cash and shore up that defence, Arsene?
