Love Your Club: Bryan Hodge – Forfar Athletic

Published:

Bryan Hodge may have only been been at Forfar Athletic for a matter of weeks, but the midfielder is certainly appreciating the spirit in the dressing room at the Angus club.

Ladbrokes News caught up with the former Stenhousemuir man and got his thoughts on how the club was adorning itself to him in his short time at Station Park.

Why do you love Forfar?

There’s some good banter in the dressing room. Dick Campbell has some funny wee phrases that I’ve never heard before. So far it’s been the craic and banter that I have enjoyed so far.

What’s the vibe like in the dressing room?

It’s like any other football dressing room. You get excitement and also a wee bit nervous; it doesn’t matter if it’s a friendly, a league game or a cup match. That’s just football, it happens in every dressing room and it’s the same here at Forfar.

Describe the fans and what they mean to the club

I’ve not had many dealings with the fans and with no competitive games yet I’ve not come across much in terms of shouting from the terraces, but they seem like the fans of any other football club. They obviously love their club and want them to do well.

Can you name a Forfar backroom hero?

Martin the groundsman/kitman has been good to me since I’ve been here. He’s waiting for an operation but he’s still grafting away through the pain. He’s probably an unsung hero at this club.

What’s the best thing about being a Forfar footballer?

Playing football on a Saturday, simple as that. I don’t think there’s any better feeling than doing well and your team wins, you go home for the rest of the weekend and you’re happy.

But on the other side of that getting beat is the worst feeling in the world.
