Liverpool legend a short price to see Red in his first MLS season

Steven Gerrard is clearly less than impressed with the antics of former Liverpool teammate Raheem Sterling, but according to Ladbrokes the Reds legend’s own infamous disciplinary problems may come back to haunt him stateside.
With the former Liverpool skipper due to make his LA Galaxy bow against Club America in the International Champions Cup on Saturday, the spotlight has been on Gerrard and former England midfield partner Frank Lampard.
The man who spent last season on loan at Manchester City is also due to make his overdue New York City debut at the weekend.
Given Gerrard’s propensity to lose his cool in the heat of battle – he picked up seven red cards and averaged just over five yellows per season at Liverpool – the 34-year-old is quoted at 7/4 to get sent off during his maiden MLS season.
The firm also look ahead to a hotly anticipated clash of the Premier League legends, when Gerrard’s Galaxy entertain Lampard’s Big Apple outfit at the StubHub Centre on August 25th.

However, it’s not all speculation of the bad-tempered nature for Gerrard’s new career path. It’s 10/1 he and Lamps both score in that televised clash and 5/2 he celebrates a debut strike against Club America.
And with 13 matches of the regular MLS season still to come, the Reds hero is afforded odds of 5/6 to notch above or below the 4.5 goals line.
Finally, it’s 5/1 that Gerrard finally realises his long-held ambition to win a league title, with reigning MLS champions LA handily placed to make the play-offs at this stage, if not gain an automatic semi-final spot.
