Fresh revelations push Real Madrid man closer to Man Utd move

Manchester United fans will be delighted to learn of reports from Spanish newspaper Marca saying that Sergio Ramos is hell bent on a move away from the Bernabeu this summer.

All manner of rumours have circulated in the past fortnight, some suggesting that Ramos will only be allowed to leave for Old Trafford if United number one David de Gea goes the other way.

However, now the extent of the discord between Ramos and his employers has been laid bare, the transfer looks like it could well happen regardless of Real’s designs on De Gea.

The Spanish international becoming a Manchester United player before the end of the transfer window is as short as 11/8 with Ladbrokes.

Marca report that Ramos’ relationship with club president Florentino Perez is at a low ebb as the player feel he’s been made a scapegoat over a failure to agree terms on a new Bernabeu deal earlier in the season.

According to Spain’s most popular source of football news, Ramos now wants out at all costs rather than risk the kind of treatment doled out to his international teammate Iker Casillas by some sections of the Bernabeu crowd.

The 29-year-old’s arrival would certainly be a hugely welcome one at Old Trafford as United have now toiled for successive summers in trying to attract a world-class centre-back.

Ramos’ personal collection of club and international honours places him among the most revered centre-halves on the planet, so it would be a real feather in Louis van Gaal’s cap if he can pull this transfer off.

It looks all the more plausible for the Dutchman now.
