Vote4Value: Sole Power heads King’s Stand Stakes boost sextet

One horse has dominated Royal Ascot’s King’s Stand Stakes over the past couple of years, with Edward Lynam’s Sole Power taking the Group 1 sprint in 2013 and 2014, at 8/1 and 5/1 respectively.
You won’t get a better price at present than the 4/1 with Ladbrokes about the eight-year-old taking this event for an unprecedented third year running, but there may be even more value to squeeze out of the bookies.

Brazen Beau: Chris Waller’s Australian raider’s Racing Post Rating of 128 is up there with the best in this race, and the three-year-old is in the winning habit, having beaten all rivals in three of his past four runs, only going down to odds-on favourite Lankan Rupee in a Flemington Group 1 during that time.
The big negative is that Brazen Beau is yet to run, let alone win, outside his homeland.
Mecca’s Angel:The one horse in the race in even better form than Brazen Beau has won five of his past six races, with his sole loss over the past 18 months coming on never-before-encountered ground at Maissons-Laffite in May 2014.
That being said, Mecca’s Angel will need a career-best performance to land his first Group 1.
Moviesta: Possibly third-string for the Lynam team, although Moviesta was only beaten a length by stablemate Sole Power in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York last August, having finished twice that distance back in a Group 3 at Newmarket three months earlier, so could still be improving.
Muthmir: William Haggas’ runner landed a smart Group 2 at Chantilly over this distance last time out in May, after claiming fifth in a blanket finish to the Duke of York Stakes a few weeks earlier.
Paul Hanagan being back on board is a plus, but only one British-based trainer has taken this over the past decade .
Shamal Wind: Another Aussie raider, this time for trainer Robert Smerdon, Shamal Wind is on a two-race winning streak and has finished outside the first five just twice in her last 12 runs.
Booking Ryan Moore to take the ride is a massive coup.
Sole Power: Could enter the history books as the first horse to win this race three times, and on the spin to boot.
His form in general this season is nothing special, but Sole Power already has a 2015 Group 1 win at Meydan under his belt, and Richard Hughes retains the ride.
