This year’s renewal of the St. James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot is set to pit a number of big names against each other and we’re adding to the excitement with the return of our Vote For Value polls.
Once again we’re asking you which horses you’d like to see us enhance and in this case there are plenty of juicy candidates.
But which Royal Ascot runner is getting you excited?

Belardo: The Dewhurst winner has shown glimpses of promise and connections can take plenty away from his Irish 2000 Guineas fourth-placed finish last time out. Will he be a worthy foe at Royal Ascot? You decide.
Consort: Sir Michael Stoute’s progressive charge has impressed on his first two outings but will he have enough to trouble the market principals? A few of his vanquished rivals have failed to shine at although there’s plenty more juice to be had should you make him your price boost pick.
Estidhkaar: Richard Hannon is hoping the ground won’t be too quick when his Greenham Stakes second lines up. Aside from that game performance last season’s Champagne Stakes winner has struggled during the current campaign. But will you be backing a return to form?
Gleneagles: The dual English and Irish 2000 Guineas winner skipped the Derby in favour of this assignment and is likely to be many people’s pick to land the spoils here. Trainer Aidan O’Brien has won this renewal on six previous occasions, lastly in 2009, and has a great chance of bringing up a magnificent seven.
Make Believe: Trainer Andre Fabre’s planning a dual attack on market fancy Gleneagles and this recent Poule d’Essai des Poulains winner could have the answer to Aidan O’Brien’s charge. Fabre’s talented three-year-old had subsequent French Derby winner New Bay behind on that occasion and is sure to attract plenty of attention in Berkshire.
