There’s so much more to come from Spieth, say voters

Published:

Jordan Spieth’s incredible major run at the tender age of just 21-years-old is already pretty impressive. But hold on tight because the best is yet to come.

Following the Texan’s dramatic play-off victory to land the US Open crown at Chambers Bay we asked Ladbrokes News readers to tell us how many majors they think golfing’s latest prodigy will win in his career.

And the result was in keeping with how highly many onlookers regard the precocious talent. 36 per cent of you believe Spieth will go on to win 15 or more major titles, potentially eclipsing the great Jack Nicklaus’ haul of 19 in the process.

The result was pretty close though. 32 per cent of voters think Spieth winning between nine and 11 majors is a more realistic – albeit still pretty lofty – aim.

Between six and eight major victories was next on the list with 16 per cent and the 12-14 bracket weighed in with 12 per cent of the vote.

One thing is clear. A lot of you believe that given the dual major winner has started his career in such scintillating form, he’ll take a lot of stopping.

Only four per cent of you voted for Spieth to win between three and five majors before he hangs up his clubs meaning the vast majority can only see further success ahead.

Perhaps all of us should be ploughing in to the 6/1 odds that he wins next month’s Open while we still can.
