Spurs is most likely destination for Everton’s Belgian winger

The ground looks particularly fertile for Tottenham and Everton to conduct some successful transfer business this summer as both clubs have something the other wants.

It’s not the first time that Spurs have made a move for Toffees winger Kevin Mirallas, who only has a year left to run on his Goodison Park deal.

Mauricio Pochettino attempted to bring the Belgian to White Hart Lane back in January, in a proposed swap deal involving Aaron Lennon.

At that time Everton were understandably unwilling to gamble on a player who had slipped out of first-team contention at White Hart Lane, though Lennon’s influence on the team after his arrival has since persuaded his temporary employers otherwise.

Spurs are changing tack this time around, with the Daily Mirror reporting a £7m bid for 27-year-old Mirallas is being prepared.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s notoriously-tough negotiator Daniel Levy has made noises that Lennon, 28, is only available for a fee in the region of £10m.

However, with Lennon believed to be very keen on a move to Merseyside and Mirallas also happy to find a new club, there is much working in the favour of such an exchange, be it involving some cash or by virtue of two conventional sales.

The recent arrival of Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu to Everton on a permanent deal, should also speed up Mirallas’ exit as the young Spaniard is a tailor-made replacement.
