Rangers odds-on for title with Warburton in charge

Glasgow Rangers are a dead cert to secure a return the top of the Scottish football ladder after appointing Mark Warburton.

That is according to the traders at Scottish Professional Football League sponsors Ladbrokes who have installed the Glasgow giants as 10/11 favourites to win the Ladbrokes Championship this season.

Warburton was unveiled as the new Gers boss earlier today after almost guiding Brentford to the top flight in England.

Such is the confidence in the former banker’s ability, Rangers are as short as 1/4 to secure promotion by any means next season, after losing the play-off final against Motherwell at the end of this term.

The same odds can be had for Warbuton to be in charge for the last league match of the 2015-16 campaign, suggesting the Rangers board have the right man in place to guide the club back into the big time.

Warburton has a proven track record for spotting young talent and the Ibrox crowd look set to treated to some rampant home displays, with the bookmaker offering odds of 5/1 on an unbeaten league campaign at home.

Those who think the Gers can go one better and win ALL of their league games in the forthcoming campaign are offered odds of 25/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The betting suggests Warburton is expected to lead Rangers back to the top by any means at his first attempt.

“We’re also sure plenty of fans will want to take a punt on him keeping a perfect record in the Ladbrokes Championship next season and if he pulls that feat off it’s sure to cost us a few quid.”
