PSG playmaker hints at potential shock switch to Crystal Palace

Former Newcastle whizz, Yohan Cabaye, has indicated a return to the Premier League could be on the cards just 18 months after departing St James’ Park for Paris St-Germain, but the probable destination will surprise many.
Speaking to Le Parisien, Cabaye was candid in his affection for former manager Alan Pardew, strongly suggesting he could envisage working with him at Crystal Palace.
“It went very well with him (Pardew). I enjoyed it and he does a great job, “ said Cabaye. “The most important thing is to find fun. If I have to make that decision, it will be a pleasure to see my old coach. ”
Cabaye has grown disillusioned with his peripheral role at PSG where he has failed to impose himself in the first XI thanks to a squad brimming with internationals.
For a player used to running the show at his previous clubs, this is not a situation the Frenchman wishes to prolong, especially as the immediate ramifications could be disastrous for his international aspirations.
With the next Euro Championships in his own country looming large on the horizon, the dead-ball expert can ill-afford to be scrapping for playing time at the Parc des Princes, a sentiment echoed by France manager Didier Deschamps.
Although Les Bleus chief Deschamps is a known admirer of the former Lille schemer, he’s already strongly alluded to the fact that Cabaye’s place in the national squad is in jeopardy should he remain at PSG.
“Yohan (Cabaye) has a complicated situation at his club. He knows. We have already spoken at the meeting in the autumn,” said Deschamps. “Does he find a good or a better solution? I hope so, for him.”
Palace could well be the most grateful benefactors from Cabaye’s predicament.
