Poll: How many Brits will be left standing at Wimbledon in round three?

What better way to kick off Wimbledon than to witness a British qualifier come back from the jaws of defeat to book his spot in the second round?

With Liam Broady’s excellent win on Monday, confidence is sure to be high amongst the British contingent.

The temperatures are set to soar over the next couple of days, but can the home grown representatives do the same thing?

The Stockport player is the first of the eight-strong UK representative to make it into the second round, and a tie against David Goffin awaits him.

Should he make it through to the third stage, the home nation would have already equalled their tally for representatives in the last 32 from 2014, and would be half-way there to matching 2012 and 2013.

But could this summer be the one that British tennis shines through?

Andy Murray has his sights set on another challenge at the title in SW19, while the likes of Laura Robson and Heather Watson will be geared up to progress at least a couple of rounds in London.

So for today’s poll, we are asking you just how many Brits you think will make it to the third round of the Wimbledon singles in 2015?

The pessimists may be drawn to the fact that only once since the turn of the century has Britain been represented by three or more players in the third stage of the grass classic.

But conversely, only once in the last 15 years have the home nation failed to have a player make it to past two opponents.

Perhaps unsurprisingly the UK has most commonly had just one player to cheer on in last 32 in recent times.

In fact over the last 15 years, only one player has made it that far on nine occasions, specifically Andy Murry or Tim Henman.

But with Broady already into the second round, could the Dunblane superstar be accompanied to the third round by a fellow countryman?
