Meet the Monaco winger Spurs have been told to bid £16m for

It’s reasonable to suggest that every Tottenham winger bar Nacer Chadli is at risk of the chop at White Hart Lane this summer, a theory that is supported by the latest name reported in various gossip pages.

Spurs are looking to replace at least one of Aaron Lennon, Erik Lamela and Andros Townsend with new faces this offseason and Monaco’s Yannick Ferreira Carrasco is believed to be among the chief targets.

Although the 21-year-old has played in the French principality for the past three seasons, not much is known about him. Until, of course, news.ladbrokes put him under their scouting microscope and revealed all.

Carrasco signed for Monaco in 2010 after leaving Genk and made his senior debut for the club when they were a Ligue 2 outfit in the 2012/13 campaign.

He featured in 27 games and scored six goals during that season as Les Rouges et Blancs captured the country’s second-division crown.

As the club splashed the cash on a number star names the following term, Carrasco’s input into the first team was naturally marginalised, although he still managed three strikes in 18 Ligue 1 appearances.

Last season saw the Belgian play his biggest part, featuring in over 50 matches in all competitions and matching his career-best goal haul with eight in those outings.

10 games in the Champions League will have helped the Ixelles native’s development no end and Arsenal fans will remember his name with some scorn after he slotted the third and final goal in a 3-1 win at the Emirates.

A regular in Belgium’s various youth teams, Carrasco gained the first of his three senior-team caps as a substitute in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Cyprus.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to recruit younger professionals as he looks to return Tottenham to the Champions League at a price of 13/2, but will need to double his initial offer of £8m if he wants to enter into negotiations for Carrasco.
