Juve intriguingly priced to bring obstinacy to Champions League

Juventus and Barcelona share a common goal as they head to Berlin to contest the Champions League final, with victory for either outfit landing them a vaunted treble of trophies for the campaign.

Having both secured their respective league and domestic cups, the pair eye Europe’s most glittering piece of silverware as the icing on top of an already sizeable cake.

For both sides, the encounter at the Olympiastadion will be their eighth European final but only Barcelona can look back on their history with any joy.

The Spaniards have won four of their previous seven outings in continental cup finals, three of which have come in the past decade, while Juve have celebrated just twice and haven’t made it this far in 12 years.

On that basis alone it’s easy to see why the Blaugrana are 8/13 favourites to claim 90-minute victory, with Juventus 5/1 and the draw a 3/1 chance. Aside from the historical advantage they hold, though, Barca’s present-day case for success is quite compelling too.

At the forefront is the deadly trio up front. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar have scored 120 goals between them in all competitions and all three rate as skinny prospects to bag at anytime in the final.

Messi is 10/11 in the betting, with his two strike partners close behind at 5/4. if any side had a stereotypical chance of stopping them, an Italian club would and Juventus have been defensively solid throughout their Champions League campaign.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side have shipped just seven goals in 12 outings in the competition and have only been hit for two or more in a game once.

It’s 17/4 that the Turin side keep a clean sheet, while 21/20 is available on Juve holding their rivals to under 1.5 strikes.
