If it’s tension and excitement you’re looking for then this weekend’s round of GAA Championship fixtures shouldn’t disappoint.
And being a pretty passionate bunch ourselves we’ve decided to get in on the act by providing another tempting GAA Super Bonus Acca.
Donegal, Westmeath, Kerry and Mayo are our latest picks. Here’s why you need to get involved:
DONEGAL to beat Armagh – Ulster SFC Quarter Final (Sunday 14:00, Live on Premier Sports and RTE2)
These two sides renew acquaintances following a bad tempered All-Ireland quarter final last year.
Donegal won a tight contest by just one point before going on to reach the final and they look in good shape once again.
And having beaten Tyrone by a three-point margin in the preliminary round the visitors will be confident of overcoming their inferior opponents.
MAYO to beat Galway – Connacht SFC Semi Final (Sunday 16:00, Live on RTE2)
Mayo are chasing their fifth Connacht title in a row but before they can dream of another final they face tricky opponents in Galway here.
Kevin Walsh’s side are fast improving however their hopes have taken a blow recently with injuries to key players, including Shane Walsh.
Mayo won the pair’s corresponding fixture pretty easily last year and although they might not have things all their own way there should be plenty of opportunities to breach a suspect Galway defence.
WESTMEATH to beat Wexford – Leinster SFC Quarter Final (Sunday 15:30)
Westmeath can continue their upward trajectory against a Wexford outfit who’ve been on the downgrade for the last few years.
The visitors’ slump has seen them relegated to the bottom division with their defensive frailties a key contributor to their recent downfall.
The likes of Westmeath forward John Heslin should be able to take advantage of those weaknesses and aid his team’s progress to the next round.
KERRY to beat Tipperary – Munster SFC Semi Final (Sunday 15:30)
Kerry are the reigning Munster and All Ireland champions and they look even stronger this term.
The return of Colm Cooper gives them a huge boost although there are still a few injury worries and a resurgent Tipperary side shouldn’t be underestimated.
Having said that though, Tipp haven’t beaten this weekend’s opponents in the Championship since 1928 and we can’t see that changing on this occasion.
