DONEGAL to beat Derry – Ulster SFC Semi Final (Saturday 19:00, Live on Sky Sports 1)
The mood in the Donegal camp will be pretty strong after they produced the performance of the Championship to beat Armagh in the previous round.
In fact, their record extends to a run of 17 wins in their last 18 Ulster Championship games and they have to be backed against an inconsistent Derry outfit.
Expect the visitors to battle hard but their lightweight attack isn;t likely to have the scoring power to trouble the Donegal defence.
MEATH to beat Westmeath – Leinster SFC Semi-Final (Sunday 14:00, Live on RTE2)
Incredibly, Westmeath have never beaten their neighbours in a Championship match although they are in good form having secured comfortable wins over Louth and Wexford to reach this stage.
But that doesn’t mean they’re likely to overcome Meath here.
With some of their experienced players back and given the gulf in class between these two sides the Royal County should win with a few points to spare.
DOWN to beat Wexford – All Ireland Qualifiers Series Round 1 (Saturday 18:30)
This should be an easy win for Down if recent form and results are anything to go by.
Their promotion to Division 1 this year compares favourably with Wexford’s demotion to Division 4, highlighting the gap between these two sides.
Many of the latter’s better players have retired or switched to hurling meaning they’re likely to be in for a rough afternoon this weekend.
LOUTH to beat Leitrim – All Ireland Qualifiers Series Round 1 (Saturday 19:00)
It’s not easy to call this one when you consider the poor records of this pair.
Louth haven’t had a great season with defeat to Westmeath in the first round expected and they’ll find themselves playing football in the bottom tier next season.
Meanwhile, Leitrim have been playing at that bottom level for many years now and have a very poor Qualifier record. The lost to Galway by eight points in their opening match.
Louth haven’t got a great record either but their home advantage and experience of playing at a higher level should see them emerge victorious.
