Crystal Palace to battle for two-time title winning striker

Crystal Palace will go to war with Swansea and Southampton this summer in a bid to secure wantaway Chelsea striker Loic Remy.
The France international, a Premier League winner this year with the Blues and Ligue 1 winner with Lyon in 2007, is understood to be unhappy with the amount of first team action he is getting at Stamford Bridge, putting all three top flight clubs on red alert.
With Diego Costa assured of a starting place next season and Blues boss Jose Mourinho reportedly interested in Monaco’s Radamel Falcao, it appears Remy’s days in west London are numbered.
After securing a Europa League berth Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is keen to add to his attacking options in order to add competition for places and cover for the additional games. While Swansea, who secured a best-ever points haul last season, are still looking to adequately replace Wilfred Bony.
However, Palace boss Alan Pardew is also on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and will hope that the chance for the former QPR hitman to remain in the capital will see the Eagles win out.
Remy is currently tied to an £80,000 per week contract with Chelsea that runs until June 2018 but with all three clubs not deterred by the wage demands and transfermrkt.com suggesting a fee of under £11m would secure the striker a bid from the Selhurst Park club could materialise in the coming days.
Palace are a distant 6/1 for relegation next term, with no fewer than eight teams offering shorter odds for the drop and with Pardew apparently clear to focus on pushing his side forward Remy could be just the start of the summer spending.
The south-east Londoners have also been linked with moves for the likes of Hull’s Curtis Davies, Tottenham misfit Emmanuel Adebayor and former Newcastle stars Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye.
Land one or two of those player and Palace would start to look like hot tips for a top 10 finish or maybe even better in 2015-16.
