QPR second only to Derby as Premier League’s worst ever

Queens Park Rangers may be among the worst sides ever seen in the Premier League but they are still some way of being as bad as the Derby County of 2008.
That is according to the results of the latest Ladbrokes News poll, which asked readers to vote for the team they felt was the worst ever seen in the division.
The Derby team of 2007-08, which famously collected just 11 points all season – including a notable four point haul in two games against Newcastle United – collected a resounding 69 per cent of the vote.
QPR’s current line-up were ranked as the second worst Premier League side to ever grace the league, with the Rs claiming 12 per cent of the vote.
That put the Londoners just ahead of nearest challengers Swindon, who scored a solid, if unspectacular, 10 per cent of the vote.
A Sunderland side managed by current Championship play-off hopeful and Ipswich gaffer Mick McCarthy during the 2005-06 campaign scored five per cent of the vote.
Meanwhile, there appeared to be some sympathy for the Watford team of 1999-2000, with the Hornets collecting just four per cent of the vote despite enduring a season to forget.
So while things have undoubtedly been bad for QPR this season, they could have been much, much worse.
Just ask Derby fans.
